2334: And Roger does wrap things up. He waves to the crowd but for one small moment he was in trouble tonight. Andreas Seppi awaits tomorrow night at around the same time. Hope you can join us again for that. In the mean time ciao!

2331: A glorious backhand down the line from Federer breaks Ferrero again. 5-1, Roger serving for the match.

2315: Federer in no mood to mess about now. He breaks Ferrero at the first time of asking in the third set, running around his forehand to hammer a winner down the line on the first of two break points. 2-0.

2306: Shriek of delight from Ferrero as he comes from 0-30 to hold with a couple of rare Roger errors along the way. Deciding set. That did not seem likely at one stage.

2303: Drama as Federer is broken. A lengthy rally results in the World No.2 netting eventually and Ferrero will serve for the set at 6-5.

2249: The second set is much more difficult for Federer as Ferrero starts to find his way into the rallies. 4-4 now.

2216: So much easier for Tsonga the second set. He has triumphed 6-4, 6-1 against Del Potro to set up a meeting with Djokovic tomorrow. Federer collects a double break to wrap up the first set 6-2 against Ferrero in just 30 minutes.

2207: Sixth game of the first set and Mr Federer decides it is the ideal time to break. A fine forehand winner and he is 4-2 ahead. Tsonga appears in control against DelPo, leading 4-1 in the second set.

2148: Tsonga steals the first set at the death, 6-4. Federer has got underway with a love service game.

2137: It is a real contest on Supertennis. Del Potro and Tsonga are 4-4 in a gruelling first set. We’re about to start our last match of the day. Federer v Ferrero on Centrale. Not surprisingly Federer leads 9-3 in the head-to-head. Of more of a surprise is they have not played for five years.

2116: Slow start on Supertennis Arena in the match below Del Potro and Tsonga. The Argentine has a 5-1 lead in the head-to-head but it’s 2-2 at the moment in the first set.

2024: Incredible scenes on Pietrangeli! Seppi has won an amazing match. 6-7 (1-7), 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (8-6). Seppi was down and out. 3-6 he trailed Wawrinka in the tiebreak, but he saved a sixth match point to triumph. Scenes of total joy from the home fans packed on court after three hours, 20 minutes of nail-biting tennis. They have a quarter-finalist and he will play either Roger Federer or Juan Carlos Ferrero.

1940: Wawrinka breaks in the second set and now has a 4-2 lead. Can he close it out from here playing against both Seppi and the home crowd?

1905: Seppi levels up after an entertaining tiebreak, 8-6. He deserved that after some fortunate luck for Warwrinka early in the ‘breaker.

1833: Just the kind of win Rafa wanted against his countryman. In less than an hour and a half, Nadal beats Granollers 6-1, 6-1. He sets up a meeting with Tomas Berdych tomorrow.

1822: Murray is out of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. The fourth seed crashes out in the final set, 6-2 to Gasquet who broke the Brit’s serve once more. Disappointment for Murray on his comeback for injury but Gasquet is through to meet David Ferrer. Wawrinka now back on serve against Seppi in the second, trailing 3-4.

1811: This may be the moment. Gasquet breaks the Murray serve to lead 4-2 in the final set. Brit is in big trouble. No such worries for Nadal who has taken a 3-0 lead against Granollers in the second set. Seppi has delighted his fans by going to a 3-1 second set lead over Wawrinka.

1751: Too easy for Wawrinka in the tiebreak as the Swiss wins it 7-1 to complete a fine comeback. Nadal has the first set against Granollers, 6-1. Murray and Gasquet are battling on, 1-1 in the final set.

1738: Stan the man has broken back to the dismay of the home crowd. Seppi will now serve to stay in the set at 5-6.

1728: Murray is swiftly broken again and for the second time in two matches, the world No.4 will have to go win in three if he is to progress.

1723: Murray pulls one break back. 3-5 now in the second. Breaks for both Seppi and Nadal. Seppi is 4-3 ahead against Wawrinka. Rafa leads Granollers 2-1.

1718: Murray’s been broken again and now trails Gasquet 5-1. We have more men’s action with Seppi up against Wawrinka – currently 3-3 in the first. Rafa’s also on court, 1-1 up against Granollers in the battle of the Spanairds.

1702: The second set is shaping up to be just as intriguing as the first. Gasquet breaks Murray and could quite easily have had a second break with the Brit saving another break point. 2-1 to the Frenchman.

1645: That tiebreak went a bit against the closely fought pattern of the first set. Murray wins easily 7-1 with some great winners and an increase in the errors from Gasquet. A long first set, 1 hour and 23 minutes.

1639: Tiebreak time between Gasquet and Murray.

1627: Break back for Gasquet, he got Murray to 0-40. The Brit fought back to deuce but Gasquet stole the next two points to make it 5-5.

1607: After a lengthy service game, Murray eventually breaks the Gasquet serve to lead 4-3 in the first set. 45 minutes already that match and Murray may well be in for another long contest.

1505: Not as easy a match in the second set for Ferrer but he takes the tiebreak 7-5 up against Gilles Simon. He will play the winner of Andy Murray and Richard Gasquet. That is up next as the exciting action continues here at Foro Italico.

1432: Victory for Djokovic. Enthralling match and the crowd rise to salute both players. Djokovic wins 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 and will play Juan Martin Del Potro or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga next.

1428: That’s the break for Djokovic though as Monaco misses the line on break point. Nole will serve for the match at 5-3.

1420: This Djokovic victory is by no means certain now. Monaco is fighting hard in the second. He will serve at 3-4.

1357: At last Monaco wins a game. Djokovic won six in a row. It is now 1-1 but Monaco’s chance appears to have gone. Ferrer has bagled Simon and leads a set to love.

1345: The tide appears to have turned. Djokovic breaks Monaco again to take the set 6-2. The Argentine looks like he has run out of steam.

1338: Djokovic raises his game again and Monaco’s has dipped a bit. It is now the Argentine’s turn to get frustrated. 4-2 to Djokovic in the second set now. No worries for David Ferrer so far who is 4-0 up against Gilles Simon.

1329: Djokovic shows the mark of a champion by immediately breaking back. Exciting tennis, an enthralling match so far. 2-2.

1325: Amazing. Monaco breaks again with some bold attacking shots, Djokovic is in real trouble down a set and a break at 2-1.

1323: The crowd are really warming to Juan Monaco and playing their part in a fine match so far. 1-1 in the second set. Berdych has closed the match against Almagro, 6-3 in the second set, and will face Rafael Nadal, if he can beat Marcel Granollers later. David Ferrer and Gilles Simon up next. Ferrer has a 3-1 career record.

1307: What a game! After saving a break back point Juan Monaco has taken the first set on his fifth set point. He is out rallying the great Djokovic who is clearly not happy, smashing his racquet against the ground after losing one vital point. Meanwhile break for Berdych in the second set against Almagro and he leads 4-3.

1236: That was not expected. Juan Monaco gets the opening break of the match to lead Novak Djokovic 3-2. Tomas Berdych has taken the opening set on a ‘breaker against Nicolas Almagro 7-3.

1219: Centrale is open for business and we have Novak Djokovic to kick things off on that court. The Serb has a 5-0 career record against Juan Monaco and has taken the first game. Still with serve between Berdych and Almagro as we approach a tiebreak with the latter serving at 5-6.

1139: Hello one and all and welcome to third round day at Internazionali BNL d’Italia. Bright sunshine again I’m pleased to report. We have one men’s match on court at the moment with Tomas Berdych and Nicolas Almagro tied at 3-3 in the first set. Berdych has a 5-3 lead in the head-to-head and won in Australia this year by winning three tiebreaks.  As ever any comments, questions or queries you can get hold of me on Twitter @ianbakersport.
