Day 3: Italians spring surprises.

23.55 – 2017 Us Open Champion Sloane Stephens wins the last match of the day against Barbora Strykova with the score of 6-7(4) 6-3 6-1. That’s all for today! Goodnight and follow us tomorrow!

21.45 – Out the seed number 12 Coco Vandeweghe who lost 6-1 6-1 with Anet Kontaveit. Kyle Edmund prevails in a tough fight against Malek Jaziri, 6-3 3-6 6-3 the final score.

20.48 – Easy victory for Fabio Fognini in straight sets, 6-3 6-1 against Gael Monfils. Jaziri and Edmund are fighting on Next Gen Area, the score is 6-3 3-6. Fabio will face Dominic Thiem in thrilling second round.

20.15 – Benoit Paire wins the the french derby on cout 1 beating 6-4 6-4 Richard Gasquet. Meanwhile on center court Fabio Fognini wins the first set in 30 minutes, 6-3 against Gael Monfils.

19.55 – Another great victory for the italians. Wild card Matteo Berrettini outsets the qualified Francis Tiafoe, 6-3 7-6 (1). In the next round he will face the seed number 2 Alexander Zverev.

19.30 – On court 2, the spanish Albert Ramos-Vinolas (41 ATP) get his revenge with Federico Delbonis (70 ATP), after he lost on Estoril, winning 2-6 7-5 6-1.

19.00 –  Francesca Schiavone says goodbye to Rome. The 2010 Roland Garros champions after saving 2 match points on second set, lose6-1 6-7(5) 6-2 against Cibulkova (34 WTA).

18.00 – Italian Marco Cecchinato win an amazing match against Pablo Cuevas with the score of 2-6 7-5 6-4.

17.05 – Nole Djokovic wins in two quick sets (6-1 6-3) the match against Aleksandr Dolgopolov. A confident beginning of the serbian player. “It was a great start. I always feel very comfortable in Rome. I think the conditions are quite suitable to my game,” Djokovic said. “I always look forward to coming back to Rome. The last three, four weeks have been better on the practice courts and in matches. Today’s match encourages me to move forward and hopefully I can get a few more matches in Rome than I have in the last couple months.”

16.40 – 3 hours of pure battle reward Philipp Kohlschreiber who win 7-5 6-7(7) 7-6(6) with the former Next Gen Karen Kachanov. The 2016 runner up Madison Keys wins in two sets 6-4 6-1 against the russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and will face Donna Vekic on second round.

15.40 – Only two sets (6-0 6-3) are needed to Naomi Osaka to beat Victoria Azarenka. Surprising victory of the qualified Donna Vekic against the spanish Carla Suarez Navarro, 6-1 6-2.

15.03 – Roberta Vinci retires from professional tennis after losing 2-6 6-0 6-3 with Aleksandra Krunic (46 WTA). Now all the supporters are reunited in Nicola Pietrangeli Stadium to give a tribute to her career.

14.05 – In 1 hour and 48 minutes Kei Nishikori (24 ATP) beats Feliciano Lopez with the score of 7-6(5) 6-4. The italian Roberta Vinci is leading 6-2 against the lucky loser Aleksandra Krunic (46 WTA) on court Pietrangeli. Goffin wins 6-1 6-2 with Leonardo Mayer.

13.20 – Kei Nishikori wins the first set tie break, 7 points to 5 against Feliciano Lopez.

13.12 – The firsts final results arrived. Pablo Carreno Busta (11 ATP) after losing the second set, dominate the third set 6-0 and against Jared Donaldson (55 ATP). Third-set victory also for Robin Haase who defeated Daniil Medvedev 3-6 6-4 6-1. Aljaz Bedene win with a double 6-4 against Gilles Muller. Other results from women’s draw: Petra Martic d. Lesia Tsurenko (37 WTA) 6-1 6-2; Johanna Konta (22 WTA) d. Magdalena Rybarikova (19 WTA) 6-4 6-3.

12.10 – First updates from the courts. Pablo Carreno Busta (11 ATP), who trains at Juan Carlos Ferrero Acadamy in Alicante, win the first set, 6-4 against the american Jared Donaldson (55 ATP).  Good start also for Daniil Medvedev, 6-3 against Robin Haase and Aljaz Bedene leading 6-4 with Gilles Muller. About women’s draw, Johanna Konta (22 WTA) is 6-4 against Magdalena Rybarikova (19 WTA), number 17 in the seed, and Petra Martic (36 WTA) is dominating her match against Lesia Tsurenko (37 WTA), 6-1 2-0.

11.25 – Partially cloudy weather but great matches today at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. Six italian players will make their debut today. For Vinci and Schiavone could be the latest match at Foro Italico. Meanwhile the “Bryans” withdraw from the doubles draw due to a back injury occurred to Bob. Nole Djokovic will play against Dolgolopov in center court preceded by Vika Azarenka opposite to the japanese Naomi Osaka. Another japanese, Kei Nishikori will play on center court at noon against the spanish veteran Feliciano Lopez, future Madrid Tournament Director.
