The Foro Italico welcomed almost 2500 coaches to its Next Gen Arena on Friday to take part in the third bi-annual International Symposium, a one day coaching event organised by the Roberto Lombardi Training Institute.
Qualified coaches from 41 countries were invited to attend and learn from 12 top speakers which included Nick Bollettieri, former coach to Andre Agassi and Monica Seles, Serena Williams’ coach Patrick Mouratoglou, and three-time Grand Slam doubles champion Emilio Sanchez.
Renowned tennis coach Judy Murray was also present and was joined on court by her son, the world No. 1 and defending Italian Open champion, Andy Murray, as she discussed both her children’s path to success.
The speakers covered a range of topics including the different approaches to tennis teaching as well as the importance of the mental, tactical and statistical areas of the game.
