Entire women’s top 10 present in the draw, wild cards also attributed
The draw for the women’s tournament at this year’s Internazionali BNL d’Italia will be held in the press office of the Foro Italico at 12 pm on Friday. Former world No.1 and 2008 French Open winner Ana Ivanovic will take part in the ceremony. The top ten in the women’s rankngs are all set to feature in the tournament, whilst Italy will be represnted by Flavia Pennetta, Francesca Schiavone, Sara Errani, Tathiana Garbin, Roberta Vinci and Alberta Brianti, plus Maria Elena Camerin, Corinna Dentoni and Romina Oprandi who have been given wild cards into the main draw, along with world No.1 Serena Williams who had originally not intended to take part in the tournament being held from 2 – 8 May.
Pre-qualifiers have also taken place, with Federica Di Sarra, Giulia Gatto-Monticone and Claudia Giovine making it through into the qualifying round, while Nastassja Burnett, Martina Di Giuseppe, Anastasia Grymalska and Alice Moroni were also given wild cards into the qualifiers.
