Ana Ivanovic lost her semi-final to Serena Williams at Foro Italico today.
But afterwards she took time to talk about her match and her time at the Rome Masters.
Here’s what she had to say. . .
Unlucky Ana, what happened out there?
She’s a great player and she likes to play on top of her opponents. And that’s what happened in the 1st and 3rd set and It was very hard to come back, but in the 2nd set I did a little better.
What made a big difference was that in the 1st set I didn’t really make any of the 1st serves and then it was too late – even if the court was really easy I think it was a slow court.
You had a very good season on clay, how do you feel going into the French Open?
This is the best i have played on clay. Now I am going to take it easy for a couple of days then try to build up for the French Open even if there isn’t too much time.
What would you be the result that makes you happy in the French Open?
Tennis is more different now compared to seven years ago.
I am more confident with myself for what I have been winning during this season, everything is in my opportunity and I really hope I can get through.
Even if I had to face tough opponents in each round and they’re going try their best, but I hope to have a great week. You always want to do your best, it’s about your own path. But to win an Open it would be great.
Are you following what’s going on at home in Serbia?
It’s really sad it’s the worst floods we had ever. Hopefully people can stay dry and safe, and hopefully they have friends and family where they can move. I was reading the news this morning and it was very disturbing.
