Monday 9th May marks the definitive start of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia 2022 as a combined event and it promises a great show for all the fans coming to Rome. Zeppieri himself will be looking to continue his Cinderella run when facing Karen Kachanov as a third match on the Campo Centrale. Opening the program on the same court will be Reilly Opelka, opposed to Stan Wawrinka, followed by Martin Trevisan and Shuai Zhang.
Closing the day on the Campo Centrale, two national number ones on the WTA rankings will be facing on a high-quality round one as Camila Giorgi will be facing Ajla Tomljanovic.
Among the most anticipated matches of the day, 2020 champion Simona Halep will be looking for revenge over Alize Cornet, who had beaten the Romanian in Melburne this January. Always on Campo Pietrangeli, Anastasiya Pavlyuchenkova will be facing US-Open finalist Leylah Fernandez, just after another must-watch: Korda – Van de Zandschulp.
