The Entry List for the Internazionali BNL d’Italia 2022 on the women side of the tournament sees all the best players of the world coming to Rome. The tournament will start on May 9th and the final act is set on May 15th. Leading the pack is world number one and defending champion Iga Swiatek, who recently opted to skip Madrid after an undefeated run of titles started in Indian Wells and all the way into Stuttgart.

This tournament is particularly close to the heart of the Polish player, who took the title with an unprecedented double 6-0 last year which resulted in her first splash into the top 10 in the.

The quality of the event is underlined by the extremely high cut off for the main draw with world number 40 Shuai Zhang relegated to the qualifications. The last player to make the cut is Ekaterina Alexandrova, while two returning players used their protected rankings to be able to play in Rome: Karolina Muchova and Bianca Andreescu.

The Italian squad will be led by Camila Giorgi, the only player from the host country to have made the cut based on her rankings. But she is joined by Jasmine Paolini, Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Lucia Bronzetti, who received a Wild Card.
