The 2024 edition of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia is taking shape. All the players in the first 77 places in the PIF ATP Rankings feature in the list, starting from Novak Djokovic, beginning today his 420th week as World No. 1. The Serbian broke Roger Federer’s record as the oldest No. 1 in PIF ATP Rankings history last Sunday.
Djokovic will need to perform consistently to defend his position in the battle for World No.1 against the Italian Jannik Sinner, the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz and the defending champion Daniil Medvedev, capable last year to celebrate his first Tour-level title on clay. They will all compete in Rome, creating and unforgivable scenario for the fans.
Also Rafa Nadal, who won the men’s singles title a record ten times, chose to use the protected ranking to be in the main draw of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia.
