Nadal and Ferrer could face each other again

This content was published 10 years ago. It may refer to a past edition of the Internazionali d’Italia.

Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer could repeat this week’s gruelling Madrid quarter-final slog at the same stage in Rome. The Spaniards have been paired in the same section of the draw at the Foro Italico. Fifth seed Nadal will play an Italian in the second round, either Andreas Seppi or Fabio Fognini, while fourth seed Ferrer will take on Fernando Verdasco or Horacio Zeballos. Top seed Novak Djokovic will play a qualifier or Martin Klizan first up while second seed Roger Federer has either Radek Stepanek or Italian Potito Starace. Britain’s Andy Murray, the third seed, will face Marcel Granollers or Nikolay Davydenko in his first match.
